I have lived in Brevard since 1990, when my wife and two daughters
moved here from Florida's east coast. Brevard’s natural mountain
beauty, small-town setting, pleasant year-round climate, award-winning
public schools, and lively arts scene were the magnets that pulled us
here from Florida.
I was born and raised in Wadsworth, Ohio, the quintessential
Midwestern small town. There were warm and friendly people; Friday
night high school football games; a lively main street of locally-owned
shops, restaurants and pubs; safe streets and neighborhoods; and a
strong sense of community. I have now found these things in Brevard.
From Ohio, I attended college in St. Petersburg, Florida, and in
southern California. My wife and I lived in the mountains of southern
California, about a one-hour drive from Los Angeles, while I worked as
an instructor with Los Angeles County schools and Mount San Antonio
College, one of California's largest community colleges.
We enjoyed living in a spectacular mountain setting just a short drive
from a major city, but knew we could find that lifestyle with a much
lower cost-of-living! We found it in Brevard, which is just a three-hour
drive from Atlanta or Charlotte.
Asheville, Western North Carolina’s
largest city and home to numerous attractions – including the famous
Biltmore Estate, is just 45 minutes away via traffic-free highways.
I've experienced life in the Midwest, southern California and coastal
Florida. I chose to make a home for my family in Brevard because it
offers just the right mix of nature and city, beautiful golf courses and a
dynamic arts scene, and small town living and community spirit. It’s the
perfect place to raise a family or retire. Please call or
email me if that’s the
quality of life you’re looking for too. You may just find it in Brevard.
